[HALLOWEEN EDITION: Prep Your Skin for That Flawless Base You Crave For!]

by When Beauty on October 28, 2021

Candy corn, jack-o’-lanterns, horror movies, costumes…Yes! It’s that time of year again! If you’re getting ready for the weekend to go out with friends then you’ve probably already decided what costume you’re going to wear and what makeup look you’ll do to go along with it. But if you’re like many people out there struggling with keeping your makeup intact then we’ve got you covered.

Before applying makeup, we believe in the importance of having a flawless base by having a good skincare routine. If you first take care of your skin then your complexion will naturally shine through and your makeup look will look great throughout the whole night!

Read below for some skincare tips!

  1. Exfoliate
You’ve probably heard of the importance of exfoliation time and time again, but deep down we all know that after a tiring day or week we skip out on this step and just cleanse. However, we really stress that in order for your makeup to be applied smoothly and to avoid flakiness hours later, you’ll need to exfoliate once or twice a week. So do it!

When Recommends: When Rose Coconut Gentle Exfoliating Scrub Mask is formulated with natural coconut powder scrub for a gentle exfoliation that’ll leave your skin smooth and radiant. It also contains French Rose Water and Essential Oil, which help soothe the skin and deliver a natural aromatherapy to your routine.

2. Deep Cleanse Pores
Next, in order for your pores to be less visible under your makeup you’ll need a mud mask that deeply cleanses your pores while also minimizing them.
When Recommends: The When Creamy Mud Pore Clarifying & Minimizing Mask contains Amazonian Clay which is well known for its purity that effectively absorbs and removes oil, dirt, and whiteheads from the skin. It also has Tannin Pore Complex which is rich in antioxidants and helps to tighten and minimize pores. An extra plus is the natural fragrance you get from the Peppermint Essential Oil in the mud mask! Unlike other mud masks, this won’t leave your skin feeling tight nor dry.

3. Prep with a Sheet Mask
There’s something about using a sheet mask right before applying makeup that just leaves your skin plump and radiant. Get a sheet mask with ingredients like adenosine and hydrolyzed collagen which helps to smooth out the skin!
When Recommends: When Glamour Base Bio-Cellulose Sheet Mask not only has adenosine to improve elasticity and smooth out the skin, but it also contains hydrolyzed collagen and peptides to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

4. Hydrate

Even though a sheet mask does hydrate your skin, if you want long-lasting moisture that is skin deep, we highly suggest using a hydrating mist spray as your last step! It will help to set your makeup so it lasts longer. You can also spritz when you need to make a little touch-up. Not only will it make it easier to add to and blend your existing makeup, it will leave you with a fresh, dewy complexion.

When Recommends: When Revivifying Toner Mist with Marine Complex comes in a fine mist spray bottle that will allow you to gently apply the toner mist so that you don’t need to worry about spraying too much to the point of ruining your perfect makeup do. The mist is formulated with a special ingredient, natural brown algae extract from Jeju Island of Korea that is well-known to be packed with marine polyphenols and your skin’s favorite vitamins and minerals to help soothe, soften, and reduce irritation.
